Adam Sandler pulls off the best performance ever. Not even a understatement and if thats not a reason to watch this film then, your a fucking idiot.
The Meyerowitz Stories follows the ongoing lives of a dysfunctional family who have been scorn in the past by their egocentric artist of a father played by Dustin Hoffman. However, over a year they slowly move closer to each other as they begin to rekindle their sense of family.

The film is beautifully shot, with great tracking shots that feel more akin to Wes Anderson's style of directing, it really creates this atmospheric aesthetic which gets you engrossed within the story. In addition to this the script is wicked funny as each actor plays to their character's little quirks and manages to create real humour through this. Now the Netflix Original has a lot going for it as each little story has their own troubles and problems which really makes you empathise with the family. In addition to this, the overall story is so lovely it feels almost impossible not to fall in love with cast.
And speaking of the cast everyone is at their top performance, with surprisingly be able to construct this character with sympathy while also, allowing us to discredit the old dude as he makes life for everyone around him worse. This is lovely to watch as Hoffman reaches the heights of his youth. In addition Adam Sandler, HOLY FUCK Adam Sandler. This is actually such a shock, I can't actually believe how fucking amazing he is. Yeah, I know. The dude who says 'Hey Guy' in that fucking dumb voice, that he's been riding on for the majority of the naughties. It's such a surprise it actually hurts. Though he showed signs in funny people, this film shows that not only is Sandler a great dramatic actor but, also a competent one as he bounces off Ben Stiller's brother character. In addition, Stiller brings forth another role similar to that of While We're Young and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty however, somehow it feels more lively than those roles as he is surrounded with Actor's he feels familiar with.
Either Way the film is beautiful and the cast are at the top of their game. In addition you need to see Adam Sandler in this.
