Honestly, It hurts my heart that not enough people watched this film. Because this is exactly what we need more of from Hollywood. Acclaimed Director Denis Villeneuve, put his soul into this project *bless him* and it shows, the direction is contained and the visuals are honestly stunning. In addition to this, the main character shares my first name, which I feel is important as I only have Clint Eastwood from fistful of dollars. But, technically he has no name so it doesn't count but, technically neither does Ryan Gosling as he's referred to as K. But, fuck it there is not enough Joe's in Hollywood and I take what I get.

2049 follows Ryan Gosling's officer K *Joe* a blade runner for the LAPD who stumbles upon a clue which has the potential to change the very fabric of society. Everything gets crazy but, the story is very isolated and neat, feeling similar to the old noir films of the 50s.

With possibly in another reality we'd see this movie headlining with Humphrey Bogart as Deckard and William Holden as Officer K *Joe*. However, in our reality we have Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are the dudes who really put their back into this film. The acting is fucking amazing as the two really work their butt off for their pay checks, which is often a rarity for Ford as the old geeza likes to just show up set, read some lines then bounce home to his hollywood mansion. However, he does really well in this. In addition upon watching this film I had come across the epiphany that Gosling might be one of the best actors working in Hollywood during this time. So you know, thats something I guess.

Either way the action set pieces are imaginative, tense and exciting as they use cool sci fi concepts to create a unique way to show a typical fight. In particular with the Las Vegas fight scene which cuts a millisecond of elvis throughout, exploding the fight in a dynamic way. In addition the film is very enigmatic which makes for a lot of unpredictability.

I understand it's long and their is once scene where he looks for an item within a factory and probably the edit could of been tighter but, the film is great and your doing yourself a disservice for not watching this spectacle.
